Oxfordshire in the summer

Ah the countryside. The bastion of the Great British Summertime. Rolling hills, cider, sheep trotting around in fields and people wearing shorts that are too short and tops that reveal just too much. Festivals, though, are another crucial scene and the Truck Festival in Oxfordshire is one of the quintessential models of the modern, small scale British summer festival. By hosting a few bigger bands they draw the crowds in, but it is the festival’s relationship to Oxfordshire that makes it so special. Local bands are put alongside these bigger acts, produce is all local, local business get a chance to run a stall as well.

It all feeds into an excellent atmosphere in the whole of Oxfordshire over that summer period. Throw in an Ashes test match on the big screen, a glass of pimms in each hand and you may as well have the perfect day ahead of you.
